Description
A modern adaptation of Hamlet's been hopping around in my head for a few months now, and I was in the mood to try drawing a screenshot-style picture related to it.
I'm thinking of making a manga version, if I can work up the energy to try drawing backgrounds... And yeah, I know modern Hamlet's been done- actually, I'd been working on ideas for the setting and character for some time before I saw the 2000 version (which is SILLY, but the characters are interpreted really well)... Oh well.
The scene is when Marcellus says the famous "Something is rotten in the state of Denmark" line, except of course, in a decent modern adaptation, the language would be updated.
Marcellus is the green-haired guy in the background, and Horatio's up front.
The background is one of
's nifty stock photos, gaussian blurred half to death. (I wanted to try for a camera focusing effect, but I'm thinking it didn't work so well.)
Drawn from 11 ish pm to nearly 2am... I got pretty lazy and sleepy and scribbled Marcellus out in a hurry, the poor boy, and now he just looks silly.
